Womanly Yoga: Awaken, Receive, Renew
A Sunday Workshop
10am - 1pm
Location TBA
“ The womanly self thrives in an environment of safety, beauty and loving care.
The demands of daily life can harden, dull and contract the senses but our inner life remains viscous, buoyant.
No matter how long the drought, something in us is always ready to blossom.”
WHO?
All women are welcome.
HOW WILL IT FEEL?
We awaken our love of sensing, feeling, moving with flow. In the depths of stillness we find a place where Openly Receiving is natural and unhindered. Shake off the daily grind, be nurtured by movement and breath. You will be inspired by the ease of a spacious, coherent and sensing body.
WHAT DO WE DO PHYSICALLY?
We begin with the breath to bring awareness and physical &emotional integrity.
Postures will be on the floor on back and belly, standing, seated and in twists.
Did you know postures are secondary? They are in service to our perceptual awareness and felt-sense of being ALIVE.
We release tension. We feel, undeniably, how the earth can support us more fully when we surrender.
From our feet through pelvis to crown we develop our sense of the up-flow. This is an effortless buoyancy - as we expand and awaken our perception.
With a focus on the body as interconnected, we discover the potential for the pelvic floor to be contacted through perception more powerfully than through 'exercise'
As we shift our attention we can experience the body through different coloured lenses, this results in feelings like ‘brand new’, fresh and alive!
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
In an embodied, felt way, you will learn how to meet your
nervous system
emotions & breath
energy levels & body sensations
with kindness and skilfulness.
You will honour the pelvis as a powerful place that affects and is affected by:
the feet below it
the torso and head above it
our sense of safety, belonging and voice
Sense the difference between a contracted, stuck body compared to a spacious, grounded body that is breathed.
Standing, sitting, walking, talking. In all areas of life.
You will learn the power of perception in transforming the body.
You will get a clear taste of the importance of pleasure - through all the senses - to thrive in life.
WHAT CHALLENGES MIGHT I FACE?
Only the encouragement to let go, to sense, to feel, to listen in. I provide opportunities to touch/ palpate muscles and bones. We will use sound, vocalisation and the Om chant. A wide range of pelvic bowl awareness practices. A few whole-body-face-yoga practices will be new to you, but are incredibly useful and fun too!
You will always have full permission to alter, adapt and decline any activity with clear alternatives given and your choice and voice fully encouraged.
