From Fight and Flight to 'Rest, Digest and Feather Your Nest’

Body Centred Retreat for Healthcare professionals

September and November (Annually)

Continental House, Hepburn Springs

Deep Healing Retreat

People working in healthcare are often exposed to unpredictable and challenging situations. A trauma response in many front-line and support workers can be addressed and managed through time out, somatic practices and mindful awareness of emotions. An approach provides engaging ways to educated staff on the machinations of the nervous system and simple models to explain rebalancing and regulating it.

Without the knowledge and practical skills-training chronic stress can lead to exhaustion and burn-out.

The thing with trauma is, it lives in our bodies, not just our minds, and we can't just talk ourselves out of it when the danger passes.

It spills over into our daily lives, and can have us numbing down, or freaking out at little things.

Katie de Araujo is a body-centered therapist with expertise in gaining the trust of your body and watching the mind follow.

In these weekend educational intensives we retreat and create space to learn:

THE GOOD STUFF

~ you will learn ways to structure a safe feeling into your days

~ you'll be able to turn off the vigilance, and

~ spend many more hours a day in the playful, open way we wish for

THE NECESSARY STUFF

~ set healthy boundaries around work / home divide

~ process any grief, resentment and long standing issues within the work environment

THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

~ to identify your personal strategies to regulate the nervous system

~ how to co-regulate with others to enhance empathy and harmonious communication

ALL UP

Your energies will be freed up for creative self-care, not needless self-defence.

The upward spiral starts happening for you.

Come and join convivial meals

and time in nature,

shared with friends or colleagues.

Return to a home you love

being in,

and a body that loves you back.
